Another outstanding entry in our roll of weasel words:
British Junior Foreign Minister James Duddridge, asked when the British Government was going to fulfil its 3-year-old promise to create a public register of beneficial owners of offshore shell companies:
it’s “a matter of direction, rather than an ultimate destination.”
Does that translate as “we want to look as if we’re going somewhere, not, for Christ’s sake, to get there”?
