Word Of The Month Club: hoon

A hoon likes to drive a hotted-up car at great speed with as much noise as possible and do tricks like burnouts and doughnuts, usually in competition with fellow hoons. Traditionally hoons have been young men, but women are making their mark. It’s now possible to hoon, be involved in hoonery, show hoonishness, and drive a hoonmobile. Hoons often hang out with yobbos, dropkicks, bogans, lairs and spivs.

How delightful it is that there was a British MP called Geoff Hoon.
