Gert came across this delightful work by Guillaume Apollinaire (real name Wilhelm Albert Włodzimierz Apolinary Kostrowicki) in her French conversation group. As you see, the calligramme traces the exact outlines of the photo of Marie-Louise de Coligny. Mignon, n’est-ce pas?
Drink yourself in
That absolute darling, it’s you
Beneath the big straw hat
Eyes
Nose
Mouth
See, the oval of your face
Your delectable neck
last of all, as if seen through a cloud
the vague outline of your utterable adorable breast
A little lower beats your heart
Charming!
How romantic!
Leslie
She was an aviator, too, quite a woman in spite of looking so cute
Just how fantastic is that? It’s so gorgeous! Many thanks for sharing this, Gert. X
Glad to have given you something to smile about
Que c’est mignon, ce poème, Gert, et très sympa. Merci bien pour le partage!
De rien, Christophe
Only recently having learned what a calligramme is, I’m delighted to find such a nice one. Thanks!
